Ability
Network provides various supports to help adults
with special needs achieve the type of life they want
to live.As in our name, ABILITY is the focus of the
services and support we provide. Our staff believes
that respect, dignity and trust are essential in building
a partnership with each individual in an environment
he or she is most comfortable with - home, workplace
or community.
Our
licensed therapists can provide speech, occupational
and physical therapies for those with individual support
plans. Services are funded through a variety of sources
including Medicaid,
Medicaid Waiver, S.B. 40 Boards,
third party payers, private
pay and others. We invite you to contact
us for more information regarding our services and
funding options.
Qualified behavior specialists
will meet with the individual, family members, support
staff, and others to assess situations and environments
in which there are concerns. Assessments include a functional
analysis which attempts to determine the purpose of
the behavior
and whether change is truly in their best interest.
Strategies and interventions will be consistent with
Positive Behavioral Support approaches, which hold as
a primary premise that behavior is a form of communication. Individuals will be supported
to learn effective, appropriate means to communicate
their wants, needs, or dislikes. Interventions typically
involve staff or family training, communication training,
skill training, ecological modifications, etc.
